Snatch steals the effect of the next beneficial
Status
move used by an enemy in the same turn.
Snatch has highly increased priority meaning it will move before the vast majority of other moves.
If another Pokémon uses a move of the same priority, the Pokémon with the higher Speed
will go first.
Snatch can not steal Z-Moves.
A stolen Swallow will recover 25% of maximum HP
even if the user has no stacks of Stockpile.

- In Gen 3-4 Snatch can also steal effects that were already stolen by another instance if Snatch, passing the effect around multiple Pokémon but only activating for the last one to steal it.
