Effect Summary
Prevents any multi-target moves from hitting ally Pokémon this turn.
Detailed Effect
Wide Guard protects the user's side of the field from all moves that target move than one Pokémon.
Wide Guard even protects from moves used by allies that also affect its own side such as Earthquake.
Wide Guard has highly increased priority meaning that it will move before most other moves.
If Wide Guard is moves last in the turn that it is used, it fails.
Attackers with the ability Unseen Fist ignore Wide Guard when using a contact move.
Moves that remove protection effects such as Feint will remove Wide Guard's effect even if that move only targets one Pokémon.
The list of unprotectable moves is the same as Protect.
Wide Guard does not fully protect from Z-Moves that target more than one Pokémon, instead only reducing the incoming damage by 75%.
Wide Guard does not reduce its own or Quick Guard's chance of success if used consecutively but does reduce the chances of other protection moves such as Protect.
