Ingrain

Prevents the user from leaving battle. User regains ¹⁄₁₆ of its max HP every turn.

Ingrain plant roots around itself, restoring ¹⁄₁₆ of maximum HP every turn.
The user is also unable to flee or switch out during that time.
If the user is holding a Big Root , the move instead recovers 30% more HP (8.125% instead of 6.25%).
The user can not be forced out by moves that switch the target (such as Roar or Whirlwind) or by Red Card
Heal Block does not make Ingrain fail but prevents the healing effect.
The user can still switch out with its own effects such as:

• using a move that switches the user out (such as U-Turn or Baton Pass).
• if it is holding a Shed Shell or Smoke Ball
• the held Eject Button is activated.
• the Trainer uses an escape item such as Poké Doll
• if the target faints and the player is able to switch out the current Pokémon while playing in shift mode.

Ingrain causes the target Pokémon to be 'grounded' forcing it to the ground and removing the 'raised' effect (it can now be hit by Ground -type moves and other ground-based effects). Telekinesis fails against Pokémon affected by Ingrain.

• In Gen 3 Ghost -type Pokémon can also be rooted by Ingrain.
