Effect Summary

User's type changes to the type of the first move in its move list.

Detailed Effect

Conversion changes the user's type to the same type as the first move in the Pokémon's move list even if that move can not be selected in battle.
If all available moves already match the user's type Conversion will fail.

In Gen 1 Conversion changes the user's type to match the target's type.
In Gen 2-4 Conversion changes the user's type to that of any of it's moves randomly. (Excluding Curse as it is a ???-type move before Gen 5.
In Gen 3-4 Conversion can not be stolen by Snatch
