Baton Pass

Allows the trainer to switch out the user and pass effects along to its replacement.

Baton Pass switches the user out.
Baton Pass transfers all stat modifiers to the switched in Pokémon.
Baton Pass also passes some status conditions to the switched in Pokémon.
The following list of effects is passed onto the incoming Pokémon:

• confusion
• Focus Energy
• Trapping effects such as Fairy Lock
• Ability suppression effects such as Gastro Acid
  The ability supression can not be passed onto the incoming Pokémon if the ability can not be suppressed in general.
  The following list of abilities is not supressable:
  • As One (Glastrier)
  • As One (Spectrier)
  • Battle Bond
  • Comatose
  • Disguise
  • Gulp Missile
  • Ice Face
  • Multitype
  • Power Construct
  • Protosynthesis
  • Quark Drive
  • RKS System
  • Schooling
  • Shields Down
  • Stance Change
  • Zen Mode
  • Zero to Hero
• Seeding effects (Leech Seed and Sappy Seed)
• Curse
• Substitute
• Ingrain
• Power Trick
• Heal Block
• Embargo
• Perish Song
• Magnet Rise
• Aqua Ring
• Telekinesis

If the user applies a trapping effect on the target Pokémon, and then uses Baton Pass the trapping effect disappears.
The following types of effects can not be passed by Baton Pass:

• major status conditions
• Drowsiness
• A type change
• An ability change
• A move learned through Mimic
• A transformation (through Imposter or Transform)
• The Disable effect even if the incoming Pokémon knows the disabled move
• Imprison
• The power doubling of Defense Curl
• The sprite change or vulnerabilities caused by Minimize

Baton Pass fails if there are no available Pokémon to switch in.
Pursuit gains no power increase against Baton Pass.
