Carries the target high into the air, dodging all attacks against either, and drops it next turn.
Detailed Effect
Sky Drop lifts the target 'high up into the air' one the turn that it is selected.
On the next turn, the target smashes to the ground and receives damage.
While in the air, the target is immune to most moves that target it except for Gust, Thunder, Twister, Sky Uppercut, Hurricane and Smack Down.
Pokémon in the air can still be hit by:
Sky Drop fails if the target is behind a Substitute or in the semi-invulnerable turn of moves such as Fly or Dig.
Sky Drop can not be selected if the user is affected by Gravity which also immediately cancels the effect of Sky Drop when used.
Sky Drop fails if the target weighs more than 200.0 kg / 440.9 lbs on the turn it is selected.
Sky Drop will cancel moves that are performed over multiple turns such as Rollout and it will not continue after being smashed down.
Sky Drop is not redirected by Follow Me or Rage Powder and cancels the center of attention effect.
In Rotation Battles, the dropped target will drop into the correct position but take no damage if it is rotated out during the second turn of Sky Drop.
Wimp Out or Emergency Exit do not activate if the Pokémon in the air drops below half of its maximum HP
Sky Drop does not interact with Power Herb

There is also a bug that causes a Pokémon to be stuck in the semi-invulnerable stage of Sky Drop unable to perform any move if it is pulled down first by Gravity while more than one Pokémon is in the air. - In Spiky Shield and then is hit by Sky Drop, skipping all turns until the end of battle. there is a glitch that causes a Pokémon to be stuck unable to perform any action if it uses
- From Gen 8 onwards this move can not be selected in battle.
