Hyper Beam

Deals damage and requires a recharge turn afterwards.

Hyper Beam deals damage, but the user must recharge on the next turn (making it unable to use a move).
If the user has the ability Truant, it will recharge in the same turn that it 'loafs around'.

• In Gen 1 Hyper Beam will not need a recharge if:
  • it misses
  • it knocks out the target
  • the breaks a Substitute
  • the user is hit by a binding move (Bind, Clamp,Fire Spin,Infestation,Magma Storm,Sand Tomb,Snap Trap,Thunder Cage,Whirlpool or Wrap
  • the user flinches
  after using the move but the attack but befre the recharge turn. Freeze is unaffected.
  The recharge turn is not counted towards confusion .
  
• In Gen 2 Hyper Beam is not affected by King's Rock
• In Gen 1-3 Hyper Beam is categorized as Physical
