Detailed Effect

Jaw Lock deals damage and stops both the user and the target from switching out or fleeing as long as the either Pokémon remains in battle.
Pokémon can still switch out with its own effects such as:

using a move that switches the user out (such as U-Turn or Baton Pass).
if it is holding a Shed Shell or Smoke Ball
the held Eject Button is activated.
the Trainer uses an escape item such as Poké Doll
if the target faints and the player is able to switch out the current Pokémon while playing in shift mode.

In Brilliant DiamondShining Pearl this move can not be selected in battle.

Description

SWSH	This move prevents the user and the target from switching out until either of them faints. The effect goes away if either of the Pokémon leaves the field.
