In Gen 2-3 Feint Attack does not trigger the effects of making contact with another Pokémon.
From Gen 8 onwards this move can not be selected in battle.

DP HGSS PL	The user draws up to the foe disarmingly, then throws a sucker punch. It hits without fail.
COL B2W2	The user approaches the target disarmingly, then throws a sucker punch. It hits without fail.
XY ORAS SM USUM LGPLGE	The user approaches the target disarmingly, then throws a sucker punch. This attack never misses.
SWSH	This move can’t be used. It’s recommended that this move is forgotten. Once forgotten, this move can’t be remembered.
