Knock Off

Target drops its held item.

Knock Off deals damage and tries to remove the target's held item. If it successfully removes an item, the power is doubled.
The removed item will return to the target after battle has ended.
The ability Sticky Hold prevents items from being removed.
Items that activate on attack such as Focus Band activate before being removed.
Consumable items that activate on being attacked such as Focus Sash are consumed and therefore can not be removed.
The following items are always unable to be removed:

• Griseous Orb from a Giratina
• Any Type Plate held by Arceus
• Any Drive held by Genesect
• Any Mega Stone held by a Pokémon that can use it to Mega-Evolve
• Any mail item such as Grass Mail
• Any e-Reader berry such as Pumkin Berry
• Any Z-Crystal such as Buginium Z
• Any memory item such as Bug Memory held by Silvally
• Rusted Sword if either the user or the target is Zacian
• Rusted Shield if either the user or the target is Zamazenta
• Booster Energy if the target is a Paradox Pokémon (excluding Koraidon and Miraidon ).
• Wellspring Mask , Hearthflame Mask or Cornerstone Mask if either the user or the target is Ogerpon

If the item is unable to be removed, Knock Off will still do damage.
Wild Pokémon can not remove the user's held item.
Knock Off fails in Max Raid Battles.
Knock Off will not remove items but still do damage in Tera Raid Battles.

• In Gen 3 Knock Off is categorized as Special
• In Gen 3-4 Knock Off disables the held item instead of removing it.
• In Gen 3-5 Knock Off has 20 power and does not double in power if it sucessfully knocks off an item.
